FLCL was a story about growing up and society (it's quite deep), Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann has several of the same themes going but it also has the makings of something truly epic. Epic like N.G.E., but without all the suck.

FLCL was a story about random nonsensical characters being wacky and having crushes on the main character for no real reason.

I don't know about Tenegoas Lurrne Gogo, but if it has the same vaguely pedophiliac undertones FLCL did, I'll......still watch it.

EDIT: Watched Episode 1. I laughed, I cried, I died.
